An article on pharmacist burnout in Drug Topics, noted "it’s important that people in the field do not ignore the signs of burnout and pay attention to the people they work with. When a colleague snaps back at coworkers or even customers, that’s a telling sign."
Additionally, the article points out that "every pharmacist is dealing with their own personal struggles, so solutions will be different from person to person. The best advice is to find the positive differences that one makes each day and hold onto them, and try your best to let the frustrations go."

A 2015 study of family and work commitments published by
Pharmacy, an international scientific peer-reviewed open access journal on pharmacy education and practice published by MDPI, found that, because pharmacists have finite physical and psychological resources, "increased stress in one domain will worsen conflict across both domains. In other words, more stress at work will result in more stress at home, and vice versa."
According to
US Pharmacist, the greatest threats to pharmacists include non-medical opiates, stimulants, anti-anxiety drug use, legal drugs, alcohol and nicotine. It also addressed how pharmacists & students can recognize abuse disorders among patients, themselves, and coworkers.
