President: Sloane Freeman, PharmD

Sloane and her husband, Lance Freeman, own 24 pharmacies throughout Kansas under the MidKansas Management umbrella, including Caldwell Pharmacy, Fredonia Pharmacy, Freeman Pharmacy, Hibbard's Pharmacy, Hill City Pharmacy, Irwin-Potter Drug, Kay's Pharmacy, Kinsley Drug, Kiowa Prescriptions Plus, Lyons Pharmacy, Stafford County Drug, Sterling Pharmacy, The Apothecary, Valley Falls Pharmacy, Yates Center Pharmacy, Yungeberg Drug, and Washington Health & Drug. Sloane and Lance live in Attica, KS, and have 3 daughters, Bella, Kathryn, and Collins.

President-Elect: Sandie Kueker, RPh

Sandie and her husband, Adam, own three independent community pharmacies in Central Kansas. A 1998 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy, she has experience across various pharmacy settings, shaping her innovative practice style. She has been a pioneer in integrating clinical services into community retail pharmacies, always with the goal of "caring for patients in the way we want our own families cared for.” Her accomplishments include receiving the 2015 Sunflower Health MTM Champion Award, being named Kansas Pharmacist of the Year in 2017, and earning the NASPA Excellence in Innovation Award in 2018. Sandie is a member of several boards, including Kansas CPESN, McKesson NIAB, Bluestem Communities, and NMC Health. Together with Adam, she enjoys life with their three wonderful children — Joey, Katie, and Jacob — and their energetic dog, Kali.

Immediate Past-President: Tessa Schnelle, PharmD

Tessa earned a BA in Psychology from MidAmerica Nazarene University and spent a decade working in Human Resources for Target Corporation before obtaining her PharmD from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 2020. Since graduation, Tessa has worked at Western Missouri Medical Center, Osawatomie State Hospital, Olathe Health System, and Cass Regional Medical Center all while studying for a Master of Public Health degree from The George Washington University. Tessa also serves as a New Practitioner Mentor for the University of Kansas APhA-ASP Chapter, committee member for Phi Lamba Sigma - Pharmacy Leadership Society, and on the Staff Parish Relations Committee for the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. Tessa and her husband, Deric Schnelle, live in Louisburg, KS, with their sons, Dayton, Denver, and Dallas.

Tyler earned his PharmD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2009 and is the district manager for the VMC Pharmacy Program in Kansas City, KS. He is married and has two sons.

How to serve

KPhA is a volunteer member-led organization, and its Board of Directors is responsible for being the primary leaders of the association who provide direction and act as KPhA's liaisons to its members. Academy leaders are elected every other year - some positions in odd years, others in even years.
