KPhA actively seeks contracts and grant funding to support its vision of enabling pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians to promote quality public health and patient care through pharmacy services.
Pharmacies are a critical part of the immunization neighborhood and have administered more than two-thirds of the COVID vaccines nationwide. Pharmacies help their communities access Part D vaccines such as shingles, Tdap, and RSV, as well as provide a location for underserved populations that might not be comfortable being vaccinated at a physician’s office or the health department. Many pharmacies are open longer or different hours than the other immunizing sites in their community, helping people that work long hours get protected. KPhA can help you start an immunization program, add more vaccine types to your current offerings, or expand to off-site immunization clinics.
Forty-seven percent of American adults have hypertension and of those, only 25% have it under control. Pharmacist and pharmacy technicians are a critical part of the healthcare team for a person with hypertension, helping educate them about their condition and making recommendations for safe and effective medication use. Take part in our KPhA hypertension management program and help your community get their blood pressure under control!
Diabetes or prediabetes affects over 50% of the US adult population and that number is only going to increase over the next few years. KPhA can help make your pharmacy the premier place in town to access diabetes care through programs such as diabetes point of care testing and Diabetes Self-Management Education.
CPESN Kansas, active since 2017, is a network of over 85 pharmacies providing enhanced services to their community. These pharmacies provide services to employers to control rising healthcare costs, work with payers to keep members healthy and out of the hospital, and partner with prescribers to care for patients needing a higher level of care.
Preserving, protecting and advancing Kansas pharmacy practice through education, engagement, and advocacy.
